What prompted you to join Thursday Network? Do you recall what you heard about the organization that let you know it would be a good fit? A good friend of mine had suggested that I attend the annual scholarship gala, which at the time was the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. I was always in search of an outlet to give back to the community and to know that there were young people in my age group galvanizing other young professionals to give back through service and fundraising was inspiring.

What prompted you to join Thursday Network? Do you recall what you heard about the organization that let you know it would be a good fit?

I joined Thursday Network because I wanted to give back to my community while serving alongside other young African-Americans. A former roommate was the one who thought that Thursday Network could be a good fit for me….a group of young professionals hosting premier events with a focus on community service.

What are your feelings on Thursday Network celebrating its 20th anniversary this year? I am honored to be a part of Thursday Network’s 20-year history. I’ve been involved with Young Professionals (YP) chapters since 1999 and this has hands down been, and continues to be, one of the best experiences I’ve had during my adult life. The fact that Thursday Network is alive and thriving speaks to the outstanding leadership of Maudine Cooper, and the DC area young professionals, as well as the past and present leadership.

 What are your feelings on Thursday Network  celebrating its 20th anniversary this year? I am very excited about TN’s 20th anniversary. It’s amazing to think back to those early years and realize how far the organization has come and how it has been able to outlast most of the other organizations that were around in the mid-90s.
